Strategy For SSC Exams
SSC CGL and CHSL exam are among the most sought government exams. Managing time for them is also very challenging for many of the aspirants. For clearing such competitive exams ‘Time’ is the essential resource. Practicing more questions is the key to crack this exam. This requires a lot of time every day for each subject.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination every year for recruitment to Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts every year. Around 20 Lacs candidates compete for 20,000 vacancies in various disciplines from Central Ministries and Departments.
Time Table for SSC Aspirants:-
Time: 5:00 AM
- Wake up and be cheerful for the day.
Time: 5:15 AM to 5:45 AM
- Drink plenty of water.
- Exercise and meditation
Time: 5:45 AM to 6:00 AM
- Brush your teeth.
- Go for toilet and fresh your body.
Time: 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM
Time: 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM
- Take heavy breakfast as this is the main source of energy through out the day.
Time: 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM
- Go for General awareness revision, it will help you in evaluating and matching what you have studied yesterday. Sustain this habit throughout the preparation, as General knowledge does not require any further attention.
Time: 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM
- Go for studying English Language and Comprehension because it is the best subject to prepare just after General knowledge.
Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Relax and take a break from study to refresh your mind and body.
- Involve yourself in mind relaxing activities.
- Do not think about topics, tricks, and concepts in this time slot.
Time: 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM
- Take a shower.
- Go for Lunch and keep it light.
- After lunch, walk for 20 minutes.
- Prepare yourself for next study session.
Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Allocate this time slot for Quantitative Aptitude section.
- Always study chapter wise and segregate each chapter into concepts.
Time: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Involve in Sports and Physical activities. If possible, then go for Outdoor.
Time: 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM
- Allot this time for General reasoning and intelligence section.
Time: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Solve last year papers as per your choice.
- Refer Kiran’s book of previous year paper.
Time: 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Go for Dinner.
- After Dinner, watch news on TV.
Time: 10 PM
- It is the ideal time to go to sleep.
Follow the above timetable accordingly, to get maximum results. You can make changes appropriately.
The Exam Pattern for SSC CGL Tier I Exam :-
Looking at the above pattern it is evident that 2 months preparation is necessary for cracking SSC CGL Tier I Exam.
But before discussing the strategy how to crack this Exam in one go. Let’s have a look at the educational qualification, age limit and syllabus of this examination.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Computer proficiency/ skill test is required for certain type of posts.

Regular Practice: -
It’s important to practice all types of question. Try making shortcuts and strategies to approach a particular set of problem in your own style.
Timely Revision: -
It’s important to ensure timely revision of each and every section. This can be done daily, weekly, monthly depending upon individual to individual.
Solve Mock Test Papers: -
It’s important to solve mock test papers before the exam. And previous year papers too.
Notes: - Make notes of all the major sections so that you can go through them before your exam.
A lot of people will suggest you to go through newspaper daily. But what I think this is just a waste of time. Instead of that take monthly current affairs megazine.
Some Examination Tips For SSC:-
Read Carefully: -
- It’s very important to read both the questions and options. Many times the options are similar to one another and candidate’s ends up answering the wrong option.
Do not guess: -
- it’s important to attempt all the question of each section but avoid guessing too much.
- Use elimination method.
- In the exam, attempt the section that you are comfortable and confident with first.
